i'm not completely positive but he looks like the brother of my grtgrtgranmother..I have a picture of John Brown but I'm not sure by this photo if it's the same man..can you please contact me @ [contact link] and we can compare notes..thanks..

In this photo of John Brown, he strongly resembles photos I've seen of my paternal grandfather's family. We are descendants of Samuel Brown who came to Arkansas from North Carolina before the Civil War. Contact me if you'd like more info.

Am of predominantly Scot-Irish heritage. Looking for info on Brown family of Pope County AR; Gaston family of NC; Douglas family of Canada and Scotland; Main family of Canada and Scotland. My paternal great grandfather was Samuel Houston Brown, lived around Hector, Russellville areas of AR. Paternal grandmother's family were Gastons of NC. Maternal great grands met and married in Canada, came to USA by covered wagon to Colorado. Lived in Cripple Creek and Steamboat Springs areas before coming to Maywood, CA. Would truly appreciate any info that could be passed to me regarding them. Maternal great grandmother was Jessie E. Douglas, married to ggfather, John Thomas Main. Also interested in the Hobbs family of Oklahoma, that great grandfather took part in the run on the Cherokee Strip. Settled around Tonkawa, Pond Creek.
