John Frederick Norris

There is a letter in the family genealogy written by Sarah Norris Boice that tells of young Freddie's first meeting of General Longstreet, a famous neighbor he would get to know. After his mother, Ms. Boice introduced the General, Freddie politely requested the General's autograph and handed him a thin piece of paper. The letter described how the General put down his ear horn, placed the pencil on the paper, and carefully signed it with the hand/arm he had injured in the war. That autograph is still part of the family history papers.
