John Holbrook, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 28, 2010.

John was born February 20, 1920 in Bountiful to Moses Lamoni and Gertrude Eliza Holbrook.

Following service to his country during World War II, he married Zina Stevens of Holden on September 27, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

John retired from Phillips Petroleum Co. in 1982 after thirty-six years of employment with the company. Family was the most important thing in John's life, and those who have been left behind will deeply miss him.

John was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles "Chick" Holbrook and Ted Holbrook; and two sisters, Phyllis Parkin and Nora Parkin. John is survived by his wife, four daughters, Linda Wright (Robert), Holly Perkins (Gary), Susan Schulthies (Val), and Diane Perry (Doug); one son, Brad (Mary) Holbrook; eighteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010 in the Greenfield Ward Chapel, 1298 North 400 West, Centerville. Debby Stevens
I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
