This picture is of my mother's Great Grandfather John Thornton. Little is known of her dad's side of the family. He was the father of Elwood K Thornton and grand father to Elwood Lee Thornton who was my mothers father.

The Thornton Lineage stems from the Yorkshire, England County. From there Thornton members landed in Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Also evidence of Thornton name in colony of South Carolina.
