I am researching my biological father. I would very much like to locate photos of him as well as his parents and siblings. SURNAMES: Coffman Phelps Carter Campbell Petty
If you choose to contact me. Please put in the subject line. "Coffman Research" I took both Ancestry and 23andMe DNA tests. I am also on GEDmatch. I found out my "Dad" was not my biological father at the age of 56. My biological father died 3 years before I found out about him. His name was James Lafayette Coffman. I refer to him as James Lafayette or simply my biological father. There were 6 biological children (so far). I have met 3 siblings (brother and 2 sisters). My 1/2 brother allowed me to scan these photos of our biological father. This brother and one sister had a long relationship with James Lafayette and stated that the biological father knew there were likely to be other siblings "out there". Sadly, there was not "connection" between us. I am grateful that my 1/2 sibling allowed me to scan photos and documents and wish things could have been different. Life is what it is. Currently, as time allows, I have been researching to locate photos of James Lafayette and his parents, siblings and other family. Thankfully I was very luck to meet, (via the internet), two very amazing 4th cousins who have been a great help and have shared a lot of ancestral information and photos. Today (17 Feb 2020) I realized that my eldest son looks very similar to my biological father during their teen years. What a shock that was.It just never hit me until today.

I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come. I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US. I am so very proud of my hometown. For more information see Kathy - Founder & Content and Community Director
My family began AncientFaces because we believe that unique photos and stories that show who people are/were should be shared with the world.
