Julia Zurruk Marcinkowski
Julia Zarruk Marcinkowski was a sweet, kind and very loving woman who lived a long, full life. Born and raised in Central America, she was third oldest of eight surviving children. She learned how to sew when young because she wasn’t happy with the clothes available at that time. As a young woman she emigrated to the US, New York City, and worked in the fashion business with top designers of the day, including Suzy Perette. She continued, throughout her life, to enjoy sewing beautiful clothing for family and friends. She encouraged her beloved sisters & brothers to join her in New York and she was so happy when one sister and her young family moved to Brooklyn to be with her. She met her husband, Henry, at a friend’s wedding and they hit it off, marrying soon after, on Labor Day weekend in 1960. They had one daughter, Susan, who they cherished and gave all their love to. Julie and Henry enjoyed traveling together, mostly to warm beach locations because Julie loved the beach. Julie and Henry enjoyed 55 wonderful, happy, love-filled years together before he passed, too soon, in September 2015. She was a wonderful cook and expressed her love with her cooking, enjoying preparing special foods for loved ones. She also loved going to restaurants and trying new foods. Julie was very family-oriented, always enjoyed spending time with friends and family, including her son-in-law John’s family who she loved very much, and especially her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored; Joey and Andie. Julie is survived by her daughter, Susan, her husband John and their children Joseph and Andrea, her nieces - Sonia, Rita, Denise and Evelyn, her nephews - Mauricio, Luis, Jorge, William, Edgar, and Mauricio and their families all of whom she loved very much. She will be missed immensely. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Julia Marcinkowski’s memory to: Joe Raso Hospice Residence 415 Buena Vista Road New City, NY 10956 Funeral mass to be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 8200 35th Avenue, Jackson Heights, NY 11372

For fifty years I have been a Document Examiner and that is how I earn my living. For over 50 years I have also been a publicist for actors, singers, writers, composers, artists, comedians, and many progressive non-profit organizations. I am a Librettist-Composer of a Broadway musical called, "Nellie Bly" and I am in the process of making small changes to it. In addition, I have written over 100 songs that would be considered "popular music" in the genre of THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK.
My family consists of four branches. The Norwegians and The Italians and the Norwegian-Americans and the Italian Americans.
