Karen King

Karen Ann King was born to Greg M. and Linda L. King and lived in Saginaw Michigan her entire 18 years of life. In an article that appeared in the Detroit Free Press on Tuesday January 7th 1997 she was described by friends, neighbors and teachers as a "sweetheart", who "was a quiet girl, but an excellent student and a fine citizen". A friend of hers describes Karen as a "very ambitious to be active in campus activities". She was a popular student in high school and a member of the pompon squad. Karen was tragically murdered by 15 year old Shytour T. Williams on Jan. 3, 1997. Karen was a Michigan State University freshman at home on Christmas break when she went to the Genesee Meat Market at West Genesee and North Bond in Saginaw to grab food for dinner. Shytour and his 25 year old cousin August M. Williams forced Karen into her white Chevrolet Blazer and blind folded & stabbed then raped her. The two cousins then decided to 'show off' Karen to their friends at the New Amadore Apartments in Saginaw. Karen's body was found the following day on Euclid near a car salvage yard.
