Katharine Shelly Thatcher
I have an old studio photograph of Kate THATCHER LEWIS which was taken at the M. G. Ritter Studio in Quakertown, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890’s with Kate appearing to be in her 30’s at the time the photograph was taken. Kate is also identified as the sister of Charles THATCHER.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Kate and her family:

Katharine “Kate” Shelly THATCHER was b. 11 Nov 1857 in Haycock, PA to parents Samuel B. THATCHER (1822-1905) and Deborah Clemmer SHELLY (1833-1909) who were married 24 Feb 1855 in Bucks County, PA. Kate was one of four children born to this couple including Charles Shelly; Katharine “Kate” Shelly; David Shelly; and Samuel Shelly THATCHER, all born between 1855 and 1868.

Kate married William Sames LEWIS (1852-1939) in 1877 or 1885 in Bucks County, PA. Kate died 17 Oct 1941 in Rockland or Richland, PA and is buried in the Saint Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Applebachsville, PA.

I would like to get this photograph to a family member and would appreciate you reaching out to me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
