He was in COMPANY as a replacement for Dean Jones. When he told me this, I said I would make sure he would be in Earl Wilson's column with a photograph. Earl Wilson was in 200 newspapers and was a good friend of mine, and Larry needed the publicity.
The next day I dropped by his apartment at noon with a few copies of the New York Post. He opened his door, and said, "What do you want from my life?" I said, "I got you in Earl Wilson's with your photograph." I handed him the POST papers.
He rolled his eyes and hung his head. It was too late. He lost his free publicist. I turned and walked away.
Larry just got the starring role in COMPANY on Broadway. He told me about it and I said I'd get this news to Earl Wilson and he'd be in 200 newspapers the next day with a photograph starting with the New York Post. Of course I was doing this as a favor because he needed the publicity. The next day I went to his apartment around noon to drop off the papers. He opened his door and said, "What do you want out of my life!" I said, "Nothing! I just dropped off the story with a picture of you that I got into Earl Wilson's column for you." He then had that, "I'd like to kill myself" look on his face because he knew he'd never get another favor out of me. He actually said in interviews that he was his own worst enemy.

For fifty years I have been a Document Examiner and that is how I earn my living.
For over 50 years I have also been a publicist for actors, singers, writers, composers, artists, comedians, and many progressive non-profit organizations.
I am a Librettist-Composer of a Broadway musical called, "Nellie Bly" and I am in the process of making small changes to it.
In addition, I have written over 100 songs that would be considered "popular music" in the genre of THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK. My family consists of four branches. The Norwegians and The Italians and the Norwegian-Americans and the Italian Americans.
