Because of Lars, I was able to live in a beautiful neighborhood, Bay Ridge, and walk to the High School of my dreams, Bay Ridge High School, and have my own bedroom for years. He never did anything wrong to me but suffered years of abuse from my sadistic and borderline psychotic mother in order to protect me and make sure I was a high school graduate. For 40 years she lied about me and I finally taped her confession that she lied to torment him.

That's sad .. I suffered abuse from my father. Thank heavens My mom divorced him. She did everything to protect me .

He was my step-father. When my mother met him, Lars was a seaman. Lars was a very hard working steeplejack which is a very dangerous job. Because of Lars we were able to move out of the Red Hook projects and into three bedroom apartments and from then on I had my own bedroom. We ended up in Bay Ridge on Ovington Avenue in a beautiful apartment only a few blocks from Bay Ridge High School where I studied Norwegian. He loved to dance and was highly intelligent and read 2 American newspapers every day. His son Leif Karlsen came to visit us. His son was very handsome and lived in Norway.
