Leonhard and Barbara "Babette" (Ullman) Schratt with their children, Ada and Kunigunde. This photo was taken in Oberammergau, Germany (while they were still living in their Ammerburg Castle built by Leonhard) before they came to the United States (Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio). Their children that lived to adulthood were Ada, Frank, Ernest, and Cecelia. Leonhard and Babette were Catholic and there is church records of their childrens' baptism records in Germany.
This photo was shared with the family by Linda (daughter of Cecelia), who is another descendant of Leonhard and Babette Schratt.
Leonhard was a stone mason in Germany and the U.S.
Leonhard and Babette still has descendants living in Hamilton County and Butler County, Ohio.
I heard a story in the family that the surname of Ullman was not Barbara "Babette" Schratt's real maiden name. She may have been adopted or taken in by a different family when she was baby. All I know for sure is that she was born to Catholic parents and she was German.
