This is the headstone for David Charles Van Note and Lucinda J Van Note in Union Cemetary in Union, IA. Every Memorial Day when I was growing up my grandmother and I would lay flowers on their grave.

My grandmother, Gladys Irene Van Note Canham, told me about her mother, my great grandmother, Lucinda. Lucinda was born in Nebraska in 1881 to Frank and Laura Oden. She married David C. Van Note in 1899. She had four daughters, Gladys, Garnet, Inez and Laura. She past away in 1909 and was buried in Union, IA at the Union Cemetary.
