SOUTH PORTLAND -- Margaret M. LaRose, 88 of Kaler Road, South Portland passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013. She was born September 28, 1924 in Portland, the daughter of the late John and Margaret D. McDonald and attended school in South Portland, graduating from South Portland High School in 1942. She also attended Shaw's Business College in Portland. She was employed as a secretary in the Special Education department for Portland Public Schools, retiring in 1987 and had also worked for many years for the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company and New England Telephone Company. Her hobbies included reading, needlework, traveling and gardening and she was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and a member of the Osewantha Garden Club. She was predeceased by her husband Charles W. LaRose who died in 1985 and two brothers, John McDonald and Joseph McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 17 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Portland, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
