Marion Shirley (Stoddert) Rivers was born on July 14, 1921 to Bill Stoddert and Emelia Stoddert, and had siblings Dorwin Stoddert, Iona Rivers, Marvin Stoddert Sr., Walter Stoddert, Fern Norma (Stoddert) Driscoll, and Wanda Bodenhamer. She married Frank Rivers, and they were married until Marion's death on October 8, 2001. She had children Cindy Rae Rivers and Jo-Ann Rivers. Marion Rivers was buried at Resurrection Park Cemetery 200 Hinesburg Rd, in South Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont United States. Dorwin Stoddert
Dorwin William Stoddert of 31 Cranwell Ave., in South Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont United States was born on July 1, 1937 in Burlington to Bill Stoddert and Emelia Stoddert. Dorwin Stoddert had siblings Marion Rivers, Iona Rivers, Marvin Stoddert Sr., Walter Stoddert, Fern Norma (Stoddert) Driscoll, and Wanda Bodenhamer. He married Donna Hathaway on June 24, 1961 at First Methodist Church in Burlington, Chittenden County and they later divorced in 1981. They had children Joel Stoddert and Jen Stoddert. He also married Sandy Stoddert in July 1983 at Acension Lutheran Church in South Burlington, Chittenden County, and they were married until Dorwin's death on February 5, 1987.

My parents raised us in the area in which they grew up. My family has deep VT and New England roots on my mother’s side, going back almost 235 years.

From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US.
