Bernard Morris "Barney" "Maurice" "Moses" Rivkin was born on July 4, 1895 in Georgenburg, Jurbarkas, Lithuania to Rueben Rivkin (1872-1953) and Mollie "Malka" "Malenka" Glasser (1875-1918). He had 5 siblings including Gregory Sampson "Simon" (1897-1961), Abraham Leon (1899-1984), Harvey "Hyman" "Herman" "Chaim" (1901-1993), Benjamin "Benizon" (1907-?), and Salem "Samuel" "Solomon" Rivkin (1909-1994).
On November 25, 1905, Bernard left his home country of Lithuania aboard Steamship S.S. Patricia heading towards Cuxhaven, Lower Saxony, Germany. His final destination was New York City, New York USA, where he arrived on Dec 11, 1905 along with his mother, and siblings Simon, Abram, and Chaim to meet his father.
In 1910, Bernard moved to Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, USA and was a Student of Civil Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
Bernard married Ruth Lasker on Jan 22, 1924 in Hyde Park, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA at the Congregation Adas Israel Synagogue. They went on to have 2 sons, Malcom David (1932-2011) and Steven Robert Rivkin (1937-2016).
Bernard Rivkin died on Aug 15, 1977 in Sharon, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA and is buried at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.
