Mildred was born in Springfield Missouri May 7, 1911 . Parents were Jack (John) and Hattie Mae (Coleman) McKee .
She Married Elwin Fite of Willow Springs , Missouri. They were married until her death in 1998, about 60 years.
She and husband Elwin were both lifelong and professionally trained musicians. They lived in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, from 1953 until the ends of their lives. She died in December, 1998, and Elwin in March, 2012.
They had 2 children, Jim (MD) and Barbara.
She had a brother, Jack, of Riverside, Calif. and a sister, Louise, of Kansas City.
She played piano and organ and was profesionally trained in both. She played for churches and finished at First Baptist Church in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she played organ. She was deeply religious.
She lived with her husband Elwin at home until she fell in May, 1998. She lived in a nursing home the last 6 months of her life in Tahlequah and died of dementia and complications of diabetes December 23, 1998. Elwin was called and was with her when she died.
