Obituary for Mr. Alva "Al" Crosby, Jr.
Alva “Al” Crosby, Jr., 90, of Lakeland, Florida, born in Plant City on June 26, 1931, entered into eternal rest on June 11, 2022. He was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, a member of Northside Baptist Church, and a Millwright with Local 1000. He enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by wife, Evelyn Crosby; and grandson, Kaleb Pedone. He is survived by children, Carol Crosby Austin (George) of Lakeland, Kenneth Marvin Crosby (Teri) of Plant City, and Gary Crosby (Joy) of Plant City; grandchildren, Tammi, Neal, Kelly, Matthew, Kevin, and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Kelsi, Kirestine, and Lexi; and great-great-grandchildren, Brantley, and Kaley. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 17 at 11:00 A.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 South County Road 39, Plant City, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Graveside committal to follow at Hopewell memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice at chaptershealth.org.
