Earl Franklin Mathis ,Sr. of Belton, Anderson County, South Carolina United States was born on March 27, 1927 in Ninety-Six, Greenwood County to Gussie M Mathis and Johnny Mathis. He had siblings John W Mathis, Mary Lee Winston, and Mazerline Madison. He married Essie Elizabeth (Dooley) Mathis in December 1957, and they were married until Earl's death on January 21, 2005 in Belton, Anderson County. He had children Earl F Mathis Jr and Kathye DeAnn (Mathis) Toms. Earl Mathis was buried on January 31, 2005 at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Zion St, in Belton, Anderson County.

She married Earl F Mathis in December 1957, and they were married until Earl's death on January 21, 2005 in Belton, Anderson County, South Carolina. She had children Earl F Mathis Jr and Kathye DeAnn (Mathis) Toms. Essie Mathis died at age 96 years old on April 11, 2023 at Piedmont Post-Acute 109 Bentz Rd, in Piedmont, Anderson County, and was buried on April 18, 2023 at Mount Zion Baptist Church/Cemetery 206 Zion St, in Belton.
