Napa Man Dies in Ranch Accident
AMERICAN CANYON - A 54-year-old Napa Junction man died Saturday afternoon when his clothing became tangled in power-driven post hole digging equipment.
Funeral services for Samuel L. Clerici, 210 Watson Lane, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St., Napa.

Mr. Clerici was pronounced dead on arrival at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo shortly after the 4 p.m. accident Saturday. He sustained multiple injuries in the mishap, which occurred on a neighbor's ranch property.

Mr. Clerici was born in Kentwood and graduated from Napa High School in 1940. He worked at Basalt Rock Co. as a truck driver for more than 20 years and recently had been employed as a salesman for Phillift Equipment Co. of San Francisco.
He was a member of the Napa Horsemen's Association.

Mr. Clerici is survived by his wife, Florence; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlo Clerici of Napa Junction; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Fagundes of Napa; a son, Sam Joseph Clerici of Napa Junction; and a brother, Joe Clerici of Napa Junction.

Friends are invited to attend services Tueg. day with the Rev. William Hynes of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Tulocay Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Lloyd Tyler, Emory Turchet, Jack Freitas, Francis De Vita, Jack Glasshoff and Sid Sanders.

Samuel Louis Clerici is the son of Carlo and Filcila Clerici. He had a younger brother Joseph Clerici. Samuel graduated from Napa High School in 1940. He worked at Basalt Rock Co. as a truck driver for more than 20 years and also had been employed as a salesman for Phillift Equipment Co. of San Francisco. He was married to Florence Clerici and they had a daughter together Cynthia Clerici and a son Sam Clerici.
