Nettie M. Jefferson Strother was greatly beloved by many, including the families she worked with and children she helped raise. Survived by a sister and nieces. Loved fashion, decorated her fastidiously kept home in bright cheerful colors, enthusiastic fan of Portland Wrestling, dedicated member of her Portland Baptist church, dedicated student of the Bible, strong independent thinker, and was a stern but loving taskmaster with the children and adults in her life, holding all to a high standard. Moved to Portland from Chicago, Illinois to be with her sister after the death of her second husband. Born and raised in MIssouri. Married and widowed twice. Two children, died as children. Strother was the name of her 2nd husband, who was not the father of her children.
