Norman Alfred Carrington Holbrook
It was with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Norman on January 25, 2024, at the age of 87 at Rouge Valley Hospital Centenary. Beloved husband to Vera, loving father to Ivan (Shelley) and grandfather to Adam. Norm spent the majority of his life in Scarborough, Ontario after moving from Nottingham England in the summer of 1968. Norman started his career as a food technologist. His first job in Canada was at Bowes Industry's. After working a numerous amount of years, he decided to change career paths and moved into residential painting, decorating and wallpapering. This way he was his own boss. This is where he worked for many years before his retirement. During his retirement years he spent most of his time down in Sarasota, Florida during the winter months. Once the weather warmed back up, Norman would spend his time up at his trailer at Pigeon Lake Trailer Park. Norman enjoyed lots of activities including reading, doing puzzles, bird watching and working on projects around the house and trailer. Norman will be always remembered by his kindness to others, hardworking, and a loving man to his family.

Debby Stevens
I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
