Scobee was born on August 28, 1919 in Newcastle, Young County, Texas United States to Myrtle Viola (Holder) Scobee and Mont Vernon "Vern" Scobee, and had siblings Raymond Benjamin Scobee, Glen Edwin Scobee, Otis Lee Scobee, and Billy Joe Scobee. He married Eola Mae (Suitor) Scobee-Goodloe, and they had children Michael Wayne "Mike" Scobee, Janis Olene (Scobee) Kilpatrick, and Teddy Ray "Ted" Scobee. He also married Minnie Juanita (Colvin) Scobee-Lackrone, and they had children Sandra K. Scobee and Foy G. Scobee. Oland Scobee died at age 50 years old on January 5, 1970 in Olney.
