Omar M. SHUMAN

I have in my possession an old photograph of Omar M. SHUMAN which was taken at the Rhoads and Shane Studio in Philadelphia, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Omar likely less than one year old at the time. The name H. Omar LIVENZ is also written on the back of the photograph, as if that is the person to whom the photograph was gifted. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Omar M. SHUMAN and his family:

Omar Malcolm SHUMAN was b. 20 Oct 1878 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Levi Dello SHUMAN (1840-1885) and Mary Adrienne “Ada” LEACHEY (b. 1853). Omar was one of three children born to this couple including Omar Malcolm; Leigh Dello; and Paul L. SHUMAN, all born between 1878 and 1884. After his father died his mother remarried and two additional children were born including Herbert FISSEL (b. 1889) and Carl FISSEL (b. 1893). Omar married Laura Lorene LINSLEY (1868-1945) on 1 Jul 1909 in Manila, Philippines. The couple adopted a daughter Laura Lorene SHUMAN FRAZIER (b. 1901). Omar died 21 Jul 1945 and he is buried in the Mountville Cemetery in Mountville, PA.
