I was thinking the same. Obviously well to do, which means he could have married later in life, giving him children that look more like grandchildren. From the way her hand is on his shoulder, I would also guess they weren't super close. Another by-product (sometimes, I wouldn't know first hand, lol) of being an older, wealthy parent at that time. Nannies and boarding schools were in vogue.
Deb Hayes Hollingsworth , I actually know first hand that my moms dad was 55 and get mother was 16 when they married. That didn't last long. She left their 2 daughters with him. So he raised them until he passed away when my mom was 17. There is a picture of the 3 of them and they have their hands resting on either shoulders. Guess men haven't changed to much, lol.
Many back then were younger than they actually looked so I would say could definitely be her papa ... as it would make more sense to have a professional photo taken with your dad...
