This is a photo of a possible family member related to Mary Jane Mears, who was born 1836 in Wilkes Barre, PA and died in 1914 in St Paul, MN. She was ostracized by her Methodist family for marrying an Irish Catholic (Michael O'Brien (1826-1888). As a result, it was believed that relatives would send her photos with no writing on them in order obscure their purpose. The mother of Mary Jane Mears was a Nancy Hamilton (NFI). There is a stamp on the reverse that was produced no later than 1867.
