Professor W. G. Williams
I’ve “rescued” an old photograph identified as Prof. W. G. WILLIAMS which was taken at the T. A. Beach Studio in Delaware, OH. The word “Greek” is also written on the photograph so I’m guessing he was a Professor of Greek at Ohio Wesleyan University at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the Professor and his family, and crazy as it seems today would have been his 196th Birthday!
William George WILLIAMS was b. 25 Feb 1822 in Chillicothe, OH to parents Samuel WILLIAMS (1786-1859) and Margaret TROUTNER (1787-1879). William was one of 4 children born to this couple including, William George; Helen Maria; Samuel Wesley; and John Fletcher WILLIAMS, all born between 1822 and 1834. His father had a previous marriage and had 4 additional children who were half siblings to William including, Mary Armstrong; Edward Tiffin; Margaret Widney; and Eliza Jane WILLIAMS, all born between 1810 and 1820. William married Mary Ann DAVIS (1822-1872) and together they had 6 children including, Helen Marie; Aletheia; Paul Ernest; Oliver Cromwell; William Marius; and Margaret Annie WILLIAMS, all born between 1848 and 1859.
William married a second time after the death of his wife Mary Ann in 1872 and with his second wife Delia Asenath LATHROP (1830 or 1836-1919) he had 2 additional children including, George Lathrop; and Wright Charles WILLIAMS born in 1877 and 1880 respectively. William died 30 Jan 1902 in Delaware, OH and is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware, OH.
Census records provide the following details:

I am hoping to locate someone from this WILLIAMS Family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of the family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please call me.
Thanks,
Shelley
