Pvt. Mildred Beatrice Smith
Mildred Beatrice Smith was born Feb. 9, 1923 in Quanah, Hardeman Co., TX to William T. & Eula Mae Carter Smith. Fifteen days after her 21st birthday, on Feb. 25, 1944 she reported to Ft. Oglethorpe, GA for her basic training. She served at Ft. Leonardwood, Mo until forced to leave with an honorable discharge due to health problems. On Oct. 30, 1945 she married James "Jim" C. DeLoach. She passed away in April 2003 & is buried at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA
