You know he didn't say they were born in Israel. He said they were from Israel. I wasn't born in Texas, but I now would be from Texas. Perhaps they moved there. Anyway, what is it to you?

Such pride of his congregation and his faith, if only he had foreseen what was about to occur in the distant future like Nostramus, the polish jews would have fled much earlier to the Americas. Never again!

Mona Helal: At last count, the nation of Israel is 20% Arab. That is to say that Arab citizens of Israel are free to own property, travel, express their beliefs freely and openly in public, run their businesses, be part of the Knesset, etc.

Arab women are free to go out by themselves, speak to men who aren't relatives, drive vehicles, go to the beach in a bikini, study whichever subject they please in a university, own and run businesses, wear a hijab, or not wear a hijab, etc.

Please explain where "apartheid" allegedly fits into all this.

Also, since there is so much propaganda out there and anyone can post anything on the internet... I need no convincing. Having lived in NYC during September 11, I have seen the reaction from the arab "americans" the day of and after that day.. and there WAS dancing in the streets.

No offence my dear , in Egyt we used to like jews, and they used to live amongest us as Egyptian citizens for long time.
More than that and some of them were lovable movie stars and ministers, and finance men...unti they choose to leave Egypt to live in their new one.

Mona Helal: So, my understanding of what you're saying is that Egyptians really loved Jews, up until the time that they left Egypt, is that correct? In other words, Egyptians are resentful toward Jews for moving away because they thought they were such good friends? And, the way Egyptians try to win their friends is not by wooing them with wishes of renewed friendship, but with consecutive military attacks?

Boy, we must have meant a great deal to you to have been loved so much that you would attack us.

Of course, we have seen this kind love manifest itself in the "unified" Arab world time and again, as Sunni and Shia continually caress eachother with bombs, and with the gentle kisses of mass gassings. And, ISIL is just loving everyone, isn't it?

So much harmony in the Muslim world. I can understand the kind of love you are attempting to demonstrate to the Jews and to Israel.

One last question my dear :
Was their any state on earth , called Israel...before 1948?
How it was established ?
Oct 23, 2015 · Reply
Andrew Schulsinger commented
Mona Helal: A resolution from your beloved United Nations was responsible for paritioning the British Mandate of Palestine and establishing the nations of Jordan in 1946, and Israel in 1948, respectively. Being in the field of journalism, you ought to have known better than to have asked a question like this. There is plenty of literature available, and just a bit of cursory research would have given you this answer.

Thank you, Mona and Samuel. Militant Israelis are atheists, but they use the Bible to make their claims. I'm not Jewish, or at least, I don't think I have any Jewish in me, except in my heart, but I have a lot of respect for rabbis, especially those who lived in the 1700's and earlier. This is a very beautiful picture. How was it kept in such good condition? or was it a lithograph? or possibly, 18th century was confused with 1800's.

I think some of the above commenters missed the exact year of Rabbi's birth, as I also did. He was born in the 18th century, but lived his life in the 19th century, except for his first two years. This is an actual photograph, and there are many taken in this time period that have survived in equally good condition. Proper respect, and attention to his biographical information is due such a man.

Andrew, there are people in the world who aren't Jews, and they count, too. Get the chip off your shoulder, and look beyond your nose. You might just see the real world, or is that too scary for you? This rabbi was a very honorable man, but if he were standing in front of you listening to your stuff, he'd be so very ashamed of you. He'd probably take you by the ear, drag you outside, and give you one really good tongue lashing.
