Ralph Alphonse Proto Jr.
Ralph Proto Jr, born on April 13, 1949 in New Haven, Connecticut, USA, was a distinguished military veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. He is the son of parents Ralph Alphonse Proto Sr (1897-1918) and Margaret Delbucco Proto. He had two sisters including Mary Ann Proto. During the Vietnam War, Ralph served in the United States Army's 101st Airborne Division. As a highly decorated soldier, he received several military honors, including the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Army Air Medal. Ralph was also awarded the Gallantry Cross, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Commendation Medal with the "V" device. In recognition of his exceptional bravery in combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the fourth-highest combat award bestowed by the United States Armed Forces.
