Barbara Louise (Lakso) Mion was born on July 26, 1929 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan United States to Nikolai Lakso and Erma Mae (Ryder) Lakso. She married Remo Mion on June 19, 1954 and they later divorced in 1981. Barbara Mion died at age 76 years old on December 16, 2005 in Kalamazoo, and was buried in December 2005 at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Olivet Rd, Kalamazoo, MI.

He had siblings Osvaldo Mion and Ines Ida (Mion) Titus. He married Barbara (Lakso) Mion on June 19, 1954 and they later divorced in 1981.
