Rev. Robert James Thomson
I have an old studio photograph of Robert J. THOMSON which was taken at the A. Bogardus Studio in New York City, NY. Robert was a member of the Class of 1884 from the Union Theological Seminary. Robert appears to be in his 20's or 30's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Robert and his family:

Rev. Robert James THOMSON was b. 14 Aug 1853 or 1854 in Syracuse, NY to parents Robert THOMSON or THOMPSON (1811-1883) and Barbara HUNTER (1817-1876). Robert was one of 6 children born to this couple including Lilly or Lilley; Margarete or Margaret; Robert James; Isabella or Issabella “Belle” or “Bella”; Barbara A.; and Ellen “Ella” THOMPSON or THOMSON, all born between 1846 and 1860.

Robert married Alice Thompson WALTON (1862-1938) on 27 Jul 1885 in Manhattan, NY. The couple had 6 children including Douglas Walton; Marguerite T.; Alice; Beatrice; Robert William; and Stirling Hunter THOMSON, all born between 1887 and 1902. Robert died 24 Nov 1905 in Lima, OH or Clifton Springs, NY and he is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima, OH.

I am hoping to get this photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
