Richard Joseph "Jock" Sanders was born 11 May 1846 (per obit) in Cherokee Co., TX, died 31 May 1927 at Frost, Navarro, TX & was buried there at Frost Cemetery. He was the son of Stephen Nathaniel Sanders & Telethia Elon Hightower Sanders. Richard was first married to Ona B. Highnote. He later married Eliza Ann McPeters, daughter of Jonathan McPeters & Mary Richerson. Eliza & Richard had ten children. He was a Civil War Vet & was referred to as Captain Jock Sanders in his community.
