Martha Jane Hightower Gordon
Martha was born 20 Apr 1861 in Erath Co., TX, died of pneumonia 6 Apr 1940 in Crowell, TX. On 15 Mar 1881 she married Dr. William A. Gordon in Erath Co., TX. William was born 18 May 1859, died 24 Apr 1906 at Tolar, Hood, TX. They are both buried at Hightower Cemetery, Erath Co., TX. They had four daughters - Bonnie, Effie, Sallie & Marie.
WHICH Robert Lee Hightower?
I know very little about this photo. It was emailed to me about a year ago from a fellow researcher. I was told this was one Robert Lee Hightower & "could it possibly be my Uncle?". My Dad had a brother by this name. I STILL do not know. There are a dozen or more by that name in our Hightower lines. Only clue is the "Cotton Palace" on this vehicle, which was in Waco, TX many years ago. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

James Ingram Fergus was born 26 Nov 1846 (Back of his photo says Salt Lake City, UT), died 10 Dec 1875 (Back of photo says Bonham, Fannin, TX - see the backside of this photo posted). James was the first husband of Margaret Jane Vaught, born 1855 MO, died late 1915 Bryan Co., OK (See her photo). They married 05 Nov 1869 in Cedar Co., MO. Two children were born to them, Jennie & Mary Jane. The sisters married brothers (Hightower). We are searching for information on James Ingram Fergus.

William Allen Hightower Gravesite
William Allen Hightower, third of nine children of Raleigh R. Hightower & Aletha Jane Thompson. He was born 18 Jan 1859, Red River, Grayson, TX, died 4 Mar 1946 at Frost, Navarro, TX of a massive stroke. He married Martha Jane Meador 14 Nov 1878 in Navarro Co., TX. This is a double stone for he & Martha. They had eight children. We would love to have more info on Martha.

Telethia was born 24 Jul 1824 in Walton Co., GA, died 8 Nov 1906 in Soper, Choctaw, OK. She was the daughter of Charnell C. Hightower Sr., & Elon Watts. She married Stephen Nathaniel Sanders in 1842 in MS. They lived in Kaufman Co., TX until Stephen died. They raised 12 children: Mary Ellen, Richard Joseph "Jock", Permelia C., George W., John, Elizabeth, Infant, James M., Stephen Jr., Iva, Joseph Samuel, & Sarah. Husband Stephen is buried at Blackwell Cem. in Kaufman Co., TX. Anyone with info on this Sanders family, please contact me.

Mary Constantine "Connie" Percival Hightower Blankenship was born 3 Feb 1868 Anderson Co., TX, died 15 Jan 1947 at Frost, Navarro, TX & was buried there in Frost Cemetery. She was first married to Richard J. Hightower (see Hightower), later married Miles G. Blankenship. She was the daughter of William Henry Percival & Sarah Adeline Lee.

Gravesite of Thomas Preston Hightower
My GGrandfather, Thomas Preston Hightower, born 5 Dec 1817, Clarke Co., GA, died 25 Jul 1896, Frost, Navarro, TX & buried there at Frost Cemetery. He was married to 1) Louisa Hodges - 2) Ruth Johnson - 3) Alabama Joyce Gray (nee Shelton) - 4) Sarah A. McCoin. I descend from #3 wife, Alabama. He fathered 19 children by the first three wives. He was a Texas Mexican War Veteran & a Civil War Veteran. Thomas was the first child of Charnell C. Hightower Sr. & Elon Watts. I would like to hear from others who descend from Thomas Preston.
Margaret Jane Vaught
Margaret was born about 1855 in MO, died in late 1915 in Bryan Co., OK & is buried there. She married (1)James Ingram Fergus, had two daughters (See Fergus photos), married (2) James Robert Wilkerson, had five children (See Wilkerson), married (3) R.W. Hyer, had one child(See Hyer). We have not been able to find parents or siblings for Margaret. Any help is appreciated.
Nathan Marion Hightower Family
Nathan was born 13 Nov 1868 Navarro Co., TX, died 1 Oct 1924 Idalou, Lubbock, TX. On 16 Dec 1886 he married Elah Haynes (1871-1942)in Navarro Co & they had ten children. The photo shows the first three children. Nathan was the third child of Charnel Berrian Hightower & Martha J. McCord . His life was cut short when he was killed in a dispute over a real estate transaction.

Aletha Ellen Hightower, born 12 Nov 1852, died 13 Feb 1929 at Frost, Navarro, TX & buried there at Frost Cemetery. She was the first of nine children of Raleigh R. Hightower & Aletha Jane Thompson of Navarro Co., TX.

Telethia was born 24 Jul 1824 in Walton Co., GA, died 8 Nov 1906 in Soper, Choctaw, OK. Daughter of Charnell C. Hightower Sr. & Elon Watts. Married Stephen Nathaniel Sanders in 1842 in MS. Telethia & Stephen lived in Kaufman Co., TX, had 12 children. She lived with her son Joseph in OK after Stephen died & this is why she was buried in OK. Stephen is buried at Blackland Cem., in Kaufman Co., TX. Anyone with info on the Sanders family, please contact me.
Warren M. Hightower Gravesite
Warren was born 6 Apr 1880 in Frost, Navarro, TX, died 9 May 1919 at Meridian, Bosque, TX. He was the fifth of eight children for Thomas Jefferson Hightower & Sarah Frances McCord. On 8 Aug 1901 he married Hattie Z. Crabtree ,daughter of James Jefferson Crabtree & Dicy Ellen Borders. Hattie & Warren had two children (more info at Hattie's gravesite posting).

Eliza, daughter of Jonathan McPeters & Mary Richerson, was born 9 Aug 1842 in Kaufman Co., TX, died 24 Sep 1911 Frost, Navarro, TX & was buried there in Frost Cemetery. She was the wife of Richard Joseph "Jock" Sanders & Mother of his ten children (Stephen Jonathan, Mary Telitha, Sarah Ellen, William Joshua, Rolli DeWitt, Charles Cornelius, Ivan Aaron, James Daniel, Lucy Ann, & Mittie Lorena).
Alabama Joyce Shelton Gray
Alabama, born 1846 AL, died 1899 TX. She was first married to Eli Gray, had one child Andrew Jackson Gray, then married Thomas Preston Hightower and had 10 children. Back of her photo said 'Indian--Spanish'. If you descend from this Shelton or Gray family, please email me. She is my GGrandmother.

Seeborne Arnold Hightower (born 1906 Farmersville, Collin, TX & died 1991 Clifton, Bosque, TX) & wife, Blanche Hudson (died in Whitney, TX). Seeborne was the son of William Pinkney Hightower & Cora Bell Cantrell. I have two children listed for Seeborne & Blanche.

Sarah was born 1879 Frost, Navarro, TX, died 1966 TX. She married William Thomas LeCroy (born AL, died TX). Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Preston Hightower & Alabama Joyce Shelton Gray.
