James Francis Cagney was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City, to Carolyn (Nelson) and James Francis Cagney, Sr., who was a bartender and amateur boxer. Cagney was of Norwegian (from his maternal grandfather) and Irish descent. Ending three decades on the screen, he retired to his farm in Stanfordville, New York (some 77 miles/124 km. north of his New York City birthplace), after starring in Billy Wilder's One, Two, Three (1961). He emerged from retirement to star in the 1981 screen adaptation of E.L. Robert LaVern Prestlien, known professionally as Bob Ivers, was an American actor who appeared in films and television in the 1950s and 1960s. Robert LaVern Prestlien was born to Iver John Raye "Jack" Prestlien (1907 - 1990) and Bertha Rosalia Krause (1909 - 2002). His father was born in Washington state and his mother was born in Alberta, Canada. Robert Ivers married Lenore Roberts in 1961 but the marriage was annulled later that year. On 7 September 1961, he married actress Marcia Anne Henderson (1929 - 1987) and they remained married until she died of lupus. They had two daughters, Alenda and Mallory. Mallory, who was married to Steve Cangialosi, died 19 October 2005. Ivers died on February 13, 2003, at the age of 68 in Yakima. Prior to his death Ivers had been romantically involved with Patsy Peterson until her death. A memorial tombstone in his honor is located in the Terrace Heights Cemetery in Yakima, Washington. Although his remains are not located there, his memorial is located next to another marker with the same birth surname as his, "Prestlien". The headstone says "Green-Go Daddy".
