Ruth was born on January 27, 1929 to Rober Eugene Norris and Lillie Lawson. We do not know where, her father died shortly after birth and she was raised by her grandmother Carrie Lawson but her mother decided she could pick cotton while I. Elementary school so Lillie took her with her to earn money. By 1940 the Federal census has her living in Huntsville Texas with her mother and “new” husband by name of Leal, and her half brother David. By 1943 Ruth left home and moved to Bay City Texas on her own. She had friends and a good heart and chose a better road then that she travelled with her mother.
In 1949 she was a car hop at Hartz drive in where she met future husband Lewis Talbert and began the life she hoped for. They had little but love. She soon found herself in a large farm family who adored her. She was quickly close to her new mother, no in law here, and the entire clan.
Great character helped her to go through such a hard childhood yet becoming a beloved member of a huge family that quickly fell in love with her as Lewis had.
Education was not possible for her but she was blessed with creativity, kindness and joy.
