S.S. SIBONEY PASSENGER LIST. KNYSCHINSKY FAMILY
Alexander, his wife, Sonja and their children Vladimir and Irene. 1941. The last passenger ship leaving Portugal for America. All but two of the passengers were Jews escaping the Nazis in Europe. The ship left Portugal in December and arrived in New Jersey in January. It was a dangerous crossing because the German subs were torpedoing many of the ships in the Atlantic.
