Sam Schiereman c. 1920
A photo of Sam Schiereman, my grandfather, at the Factory c. 1920. Sam Schiereman came over from Eastern Europe with other Jewish immigrants in the early 1900s. He came in to Canada because the restrictions were less. He learned how to skin and prepare furs in Canada which led to his job here in Newark, NJ at Hollanders Furs with his factory mates.

He is circled above. He also was the only one to be able to read English, so he read the paper to his friends every day.
People in photo include: Sam Schiereman
