Samuel J. Lewis, my grandfather

A photo of my grandfather, Samuel J. Lewis, who blamed himself for the death of his wife from childbirth at the age of 44. The afterbirth didn't come out. As his father was a doctor, he thought he should have known what to do. It drove him crazy. Passed out in the wagon, many nights the horses brought him back to the ranch and Mama would have to help him to bed. He died November 7, 1901.
