SPARROW-Sidney G. was a prominent trial attorney for more than 60 years. He was the assigned attorney in the nationally publicized case of the murder of Kitty Genovese by Winston Moseley. The father of long-time law partner Robert E. Sparrow, daughters Judge Joyce L. Sparrow and Denise Sparrow, beloved grandfather of four and great-grandfather of six. He was also a talented artist, sculptor, poet, author, pilot, scuba diver, and athlete: a true renaissance man. Sidney G. Sparrow died after a long illness; he was 92. Arrangements entrusted to Schwartz Brothers Funeral Home. Published by Newsday from Feb. 28, 2005.
