The Rev. Rufus Crews Family
This was the old home of the Rev. Rufus William Crews, of Forsyth Co., NC., now gone. It was located between Rural Hall and Germanton, where Industrial School Rd. is now. The picture shows Rufus' son, Alberto Branch Crews on the horse; Rev. Rufus Crews standing, (with the "preacher's outfit" on); daughter Etta Blanch Crews---later Mrs. S.C. Cowan of Leaksville, NC.; Rowena Jackson "Jack" Crews, (sitting with the guitar)---later Mrs. Charlie T. Grubbs of Rural Hall, NC.; Rufus' father-in-law, Jackson Guthrie, sitting; Patricia Crews, later Mrs. W.P. Meares of Jacksonville, Fl.; and Ada Virginia Crews--later Mrs. Ed Crisco of High Point, NC. Rufus was a Baptist minister and a tobacco farmer.
