"Seeing this picture reminds me of my cousin. It seems Miss Lillie was in Vancouver BC Canada in the late ’40s or early ’50s. My cousin was fascinated with her and wrote her a fan letter to tell her so. He heard back from her right away with her invitation to come to the Georgia Hotel for tea and to bring his mother.
As they entered the suite she was seated by a window with the tea service beautifully set. They chatted for a while as the sheer curtains billowed with the breeze. Suddenly a pigeon landed on the windowsill. Miss Lillie excused herself and turned to address the pigeon. “Any messages?” She asked."
