Obituary for Toby Holbrook
Toby Holbrook
Mr. Charles �Toby� Holbrook, 50, of Calhoun passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at his residence. Born September 16, 1958 in Cartersville, he was the son of Charles Milton Holbrook, Sr. and the late Margaret Ruth Price Holbrook. Preceding him in death are his mother; his sister, Laura Crider; his son, Casey Holbrook; and his aunts, Fannie Lou Beal and Laura Pinson.



Toby was a veteran of the United States Army where he learned martial arts and kick boxing which he enjoyed. He also enjoyed being outdoors and riding his bike. Toby was employed by Apache Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly.



Survivors include his father and step-mother, Charles and Odessa Holbrook of Cartersville; his siblings, Warren and Beverly Holbrook of Summerville, Ann and Frankie Pratt of Adairsville, Tammy and Eddie Fisher of Alabama, Stanley and Cindy Holbrook of Adairsville, Connie Gregg of Ft. Oglethorpe, and Gary Holbrook of Adairsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Rodney Kennedy and Rev. Rodney Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
