Tonya Renee Yow
It was a real blessing and an honor, having known Tonya Renee Yow as my dance teacher. I truly enjoyed every moment that I spend with her. This is my short story about how I had the honor of knowing Tonya Renee Yow. My Name is Timothy Ray Thompson, and back then I live in Henrico County, Virginia in the Richmond, VA area, and I still do as of January 1, 2022. It was in 1985 that I walked into an Arthur Murray Dance Studio (School) on west broad street in Henrico County, Virginia. (Richmond, VA area) I was a student for 3 1/2 years and Tonya Renee Yow was teaching me how to dance. She was the very last teacher that I had before I taught ballroom dancing. The year was about 1987/1988. Tonya’s sister Theresa Vaughan was the manager of Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Tonya Renee Yow had such a calm, sweet personality, and I could tell she had a great spirit about her. In my mind, I thought to myself that I would have loved to have dated Tonya Renee Yow. She would have been my dream girl. I am just saying! There were rules at the dance Studio that would have prevented that. However, just the same, I was shy with woman, and so I kept my thoughts to myself. She gave me lessons, and we danced together, and I enjoyed every moment with her. We danced a foxtrot routine together at a showcase. I have this routine on DVD as we practiced this before the exhibition, which would have been in a hotel in the Richmond, VA area. I have some videos of us dancing together as we practiced. During this time in my life, (1988) I was given the opportunity to teach Ballroom Dancing at the studio in Silver Spring, Maryland. During the last lesson I had with Ms. Yow, she had a sore on her lip. Now I was preparing to move to Silver Spring, Maryland, when I got the news that Tonya Yow had Cancer and I was learning why she had a sore on her lip. I was told by Teresa Vaughan that she had fainted on the dance floor and was taken to the hospital. I was told that she was teaching a lesson and passed out. All I know is she died within two years of the time she passed out on the dance floor. I wish I could talk to Tonya. I think most people would consider me nuts if I were to say that I have had dreams and wish we could have been together, married forever. I love her! But our paths went in different directions. After all, I look back at dancing and it was the most enjoyable time of my life and Tonya was a beautiful woman with a tremendous calming spirit, and I love that about her, for she could be silly at times, full of life. As a student once in a while, I could have my dancing filmed on video. I watch the video later and noticed Tonya blushing at the camera. She is so precious. Another moment when Terry Dean was filming us; Tonya would wink at Terry. This was Tonya Yow being silly. She was, in my heart, the one person who could light up a room. I believe marriage can be forever and so I pray she will wait for me on the other side. But even if that were true, I have a life here and have much to do. But my memory of Tonya Yow will always be in my heart. It is just the way I am, and I don’t stop loving people just because decades have passed away. Now as I have become much older I love her even more. The memory becomes even more sharper, proving love never fades. Thank You, Tonya Renee Yow, for the best moment of my life. Time seems so short, but I treasure my memory of a beautiful lady, and that is Tonya Renee Yow for sure. How I wish you could come back to me, but one day we will meet again. If anyone reads this and has information on Tonya Yow, please let me know. Photos etc. As of 2020, I have ended up with some photos, and they’re posted here. I understand the reason we are here! It is this knowledge that motivates me to become the best person I can become. Jesus says be ye perfect. Jesus is a tough standard to live up to. However, I may fall on my face a million times, but I will pick myself up with the help of almighty God, dust my clothes off and keep trying to be the best person I can be. This is who I am. I want to become more like Christ. If you truly love Jesus Christ, I mean really love him, then you would love me. I write articles on a website named, love-is-Jesus-christ.com. You may see this in the future and see that the site is not up. But this is about sharing who I am or what I want to be remembered for. My greatest desire is to go back home to heaven and live with my heavenly father and Jesus Christ and live in the highest Kingdom of them all, the Celestial Kingdom. I am a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is his church on earth, and I am blessed to have this knowledge. I am 60 years old and really going through some personal struggles as if Satan were attacking my very livelihood. But, that is a mistake, for all it does is strengthen me in the long run. If I could say anything to the person reading this, pray every day because if you don’t, you will risk everything. God loves you and I have learned one thing: one can not know God if one does not pray. It is how one can become closer to God through prayer and that is how I grow closer to him. This is the heart of who I am, my strong faith. Yes, my father is a God. And many think Christians are weak. If you do not know, try it. Also, more about the truth. There are over 8.7 million species on Earth. This alone proves that God is real. Think! Man, legs to walk, ears to hear, hand to hold on to something, to eat, brain to think and I could go on and on. That is just one species. Then what about the other 8.699 million? Yet Satan would have one believe that it all happens from nothing. This proves that there is a designer and a creator. Then another thing that I learned. Then when you open up to God through faith, I can feel the holy spirit. This is one of the greatest blessings of my life. As if I mentioned wasn’t important, I love prophecy from the bible for it is my understanding of the bible that I understand that 100’s prophecies have happened and are happening right now. Things I know will have in the next few years. War with Iran (USA), meteorites, earthquakes, and the 7 Trumpets will sound, Mark of the Beast, all in the 2020s and 2030s. So, as you can see, my love and prayer for humankind is real. I want the best for all, and yet we all have a choice. This is all about me and how I strive to overcome all things. It takes time. God is with you. As far as what I do for a living, for over 30 years of my life, I have worked at a manufacturing company. Sheet metal work, mainly running a CNC burn table, burning and making parts. Also have spent about eight years of my life in the restaurant business, washing dishes, and most of that time as a Cook/chef. I also spent some time working at a greenhouse, delivered newspapers, and even became a teacher and was involved in ballroom dancing. Student for 3 1/2 years learning to dance and my goal was to become a teacher. All together for about eight years, and loved it. I have my land and own a house, and yet this means nothing. God is what matters to me. Yet I am thankful that I have a place to live and that I have what I need. My prayer goes out to all those souls who need hope, for the hope is truly in Christ. My goal is to teach dancing in heaven and use music, dance, and instruments to create a place where one can share their testimony using all the above I mentioned. I believe the music/ testimony will bring us much closer together, closer to together, and closer to Christ. It’s all about loving one another. Remember me in heaven for I care! TIMOTHY RAY THOMPSON

I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come. I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US. I am so very proud of my hometown. For more information see Kathy - Founder & Content and Community Director
My family began AncientFaces because we believe that unique photos and stories that show who people are/were should be shared with the world.
