Vernie (Daniel) Cook and brother

Vernie was the older sister to James Sylvester Daniel. Vernie helped deliver James and got to name her little brother. Sadly, James and a younger sister Violet were adopted. Vernie left letters for James who was adopted and named John Edward Flucard Jr./II. John received his letter after he turned 18 and maintained a relationship until her death. It’s unknown if Violet ever received her letter or if she chose not to respond. Vernie would visit her brother, she made a desert that was named Aunt Vernie’s Desert which consisted of whip cream, crushed caned pineapple and gram cracker crumbles mixed together. Aunt Vernie was creative and made John’s children matching Christmas tree skirts.

John Edward Flucard Jr./II of Chico, Butte County, California was born on September 15, 1923 in Hallett, Oklahoma United States, and died at age 82 years old on October 15, 2005 at Enloe Medical Center 1531 Esplanade, in Chico, CA.
