Wayne Eugene Keller Jr.
Wayne Eugene Keller was born on November 19, 1922, in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania to parents Wayne Eugene Keller and Grace O Keller. He was the oldest child with younger siblings Marjorie and James Keller. They lived in Harris, Centre, Pennsylvania, USA growing up. At the age of 19, he registered for the draft on June 30, 1942, in his hometown. The following year on January 4, 1943, Wayne enlisted in the US Army at Altoona, Pennsylvania. Wayne's enlistment branch was Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA, and he was part of the Selectees (Enlisted Men) component and served as a Private in the Army Air Force. He had a successful career in the U.S. Air Force, serving as a staff sergeant before retiring on June 3, 1970. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European theater with the Eighth Air Force. During his long service, he had the opportunity to serve in Alaska, Canada, and Turkey.
