William H. and Frank MACARTHUR
I've recovered a group of photographs belonging to the MACARTHUR Family of New York. The photographs in this group include:

1 - Daniel MACARTHUR taken at the Gibbon Bros. Studio in Utica, NY in the 1890's with Daniel appearing to be in his 40's or 50's at the time - the name Rachel FISHER MACARTHUR was also written on the back of the photograph and then erased

2 - William H. MACARTHUR and Frank MACARTHUR taken at the Griswold & Lankton Studio in Herkimer, NY in the 1880's or 1890's with the two appearing to be about 5 to 8 years old

3 - William H. MACARTHUR taken at the S. J. Merriman Studio in Norwich, NY most likely in the 1880's with William likely about 4 years old at the time

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:

Donald Daniel “Dan” MCARTHUR or MACARTHUR was b. 9 Jul 1851 in Grant, NY to parents Donald Archibald MCARTHUR or MACARTHUR (1794-1873) and Ann ROLLO or MORRISON (1826-1890). Daniel was one of 6 children born to this couple including Mary; Daniel; James Alexander “Alec”; John; Lillias or Lillice “Lillie”; Hellen or Helen or Ellen Forrest MCARTHUR or MACARTHUR, all born between 1849 and 1862. Daniel’s father was married previously and had 7 additional children including Alexander or Arthur Duncan; Ann; Jennet “Jessie” D.; Daniel T. or J.; Margaret; Sarah; and Charles MCARTHUR or MACARTHUR all born between 1818 and 1834.

Daniel married Rachel or Rachael C. FISHER (1852-1915) on 29 Nov 1876, and they had three children including Nellie E.; William H.; and Frank D. MACARTHUR or MCARTHUR, all born between 1881 and 1889. Daniel died 13 Jan 1935 in Holland Patent, NY and he is buried in the Woodin Corners Cemetery in Russia, NY.

William Henry MACARTHUR was b. 28 Oct 1884 in Russia or Grant, NY and married Reba J. BOYNTON (1889-1955) on 22 Mar 1920 in Russia, NY. William died Dec 1975 and is buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Poland, NY.

Frank D. MACARTHUR was b. Feb 1889 in Russia, NY and married Mary E. WILT (1897-1990) on 9 Sept 1917 and they had three children including Frank Donald; Dorothy Jane; and Kathryn L. MACARTHUR, all born between 1920 and 1924. Frank died 22 Jul 1977 in Utica, NY and is buried in the Prospect Cemetery in Prospect, NY.

I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that these photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this MACARTHUR or MCARTHUR Family, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
