William "Chick" Travnicek's father was Joseph E. Travnick (born about 1900) and his mother was Margaret C. Travnick (born 1905). He had a brother and a sister. At 6 years old, William was living with his parents in East Grand Forks Minnesota and going to school Also in the House were brother Donald and sister Dolores. Dad was a bookkeeper at a wholesale confectioners. When he was 19, William was described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 151 pounds. He had blue eyes, brown hair, and a "light" complexion. He was living in East Grand Forks, Minnesota and working for J.E. Travnick. William married Adeline Clenora Qualheim (1918 - 1988) in 1942 in King County, Washington, and they had three children - two daughters and a son: Sharon, Susan, and Dennis. When William was 26, he and Adeline were living in Grand Forks, North Dakota, with their children Sharon, 6, Susan, 4, and Dennis, 2. Chick was a salesman at an automobile company. William was a Navy veteran of World War II. Because of his service, he was buried in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland Oregon.

For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come. I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US.
