They had a son, William Penn Reid who was born prematurely and died on February 8th, 1943, as well as three living children when they divorced. Carmen M. Reid then married Jack Pontius in 1956 in St. Joseph, Indiana. They lived in Muskegon County, Michigan. Carmen M. Pontius died at the age of 72 in Muskegon County, Michigan and is buried in Twin Lake Cemetery Twin Lake, Muskegon County, Michigan.
