I have an old studio photograph of H. G. BIRCHBY which was taken at the A. Bogardus Studio in New York City, NY. I believe that this is a photograph of Rev. Henry Gough BIRCHBY who was a member of the Class of 1884 at The Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Henry and his family:

Henry “Harry” Gough BIRCHBY was b. 1853 in Euxton, Lancashire, England to parents James BIRCHBY (1804-1872) and Anne (1819-1861). Harry was one of 8 children born to this couple including John; Alice; James; Ann; William Gough; Henry “Harry” Gough; Ellen; and Thomas BIRCHBY, all born between 1837 and 1857.

Harry came to the United States in 1874 and married Helen Adelia DONNAN (1858-1945) on 1 Dec 1910 in Newton County, KS. Harry died 14 Jan 1937 in Pasadena, CA and is buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, CA.

I am hoping to locate someone from his family so that this photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me.
