Down at Great Grandma Odoms
Here we are at Great Grandma Odoms house for a summer visit. My father, Theodore Albert Brazel with the four oldest from his second family: Laurie Ann, Amy Cathleen, Mark Christopher, and Michael Shane. Odom surname is on my mother's side.
Ted with cousin Marie
My father Ted Brazel is the young man in the back. His cousin Marie (?) is next to him. I know this because it is on the back of the photo. It is also written the identification of the three boys in the front row is unknown.

This again is my father, with his mother, Laura Ann Wicker/Brazel/later Hays and Grote. I do not know if my grandmother was ever married to my dad's father. I know very little about who he was. (my grandfather)
Theodore Albert Brazel-my father
My dad with his guitar. He did write and sing music, mostly country. He was first married to Evelee/Evelyn and they together had six children, Bobbie, Gary, Teddy, Sandy, Diane, and I cannot remember the other girls name. He later married my mother, Joyce Ann Rutter and together had six more children, Laurie, Amy, Mark, Mike, Tim and Kathy.
My grgrandmother, Jerusha Angeline
This is a tin-type of my great grandmother Jerusha Angeline Brazel (Brazle)Williams. She was born in SW Wisconsin in 1854, child of George Brazel and Elizabeth. It was Jerusha who kept all the tintypes that I will include in this site. We know for certain that this is Jerusha because her name was written on the back of the frame. Jerusha married William B Williams in 1876 after living with her family in Wilson Co Kansas for ten years. William and Jerush raised a family around the Joplin Mo area. This picture was probably taken in the 1870s.

My father was a quiet man when it came to his childhood. I only know that he lived in and around St. Louis, Missouri in his early teens/late teens. He tells a story of nearly drowning in the Mississippi river swimming with his brother Bob. I do think he was born in southern Missouri and talked about a cousin Marie. I know my grandmother remarried several times, but I have not actually heard about a marriage to a Brazel man, that would have been my grandfather. My grandmother (his mom) was Laura Ann Wicker later I think she had surnames of Brazel/Hays (out of which came a daughter Paula Hays)/Grote. I do not know if this cousin Marie was from the Brazel name or another surname. My dad married a lady by the name of Evelee/Evelyn (I am not exactly certain of her name). Together they had six children: three boys: Bobby, Gary, Teddy, and three girls: Jeanie, Sandy and Diane. (I know these are not given birth names, but names we knew them by as kids.) I know during his marriage to this lady, he either began to write and play music or had already been doing this. He did record several records. They later divorced and Ted met my mother (Joyce Ann Rutter) while working at a cab stand in downtown, Granite City, Il. They married and had six more children: Three girls: Laurie, Amy and Kathy and three boys: Mark, Mike and Tim. I am looking for any information about my father's family. I don't think we heard much about his life because it often made my mother angry and they would fight. My parents are both deceased and I have no place to begin looking for information. Any help would be appreciated.
